One of the first things we do when we buy a BMW is to check all of the fuses to make sure none are missing, to make sure that all of the circuits have the correct amp rated fuse and to change any fuses that have been replaced in the past to OE period correct fuses.
As you can see, there were many fuses that had been changed before. I don’t like the look of these over the counter fuses and prefer to change them to what the car would have originally come with. We have bags of these fuses that have been pulled from junk yard cars.
No fuses were blown or missing and every circuit had the correct amp fuse. The fuse box looked nice and clean after changing the generic fuses to the period correct OE fuses.
Next step is to check the headlight switch to try and fix the dashboard illumination.
